This fancy speciman of a bird is a common wetlands duck. The one pictured is brown but they came in many colours. It was a social bird and could be seen flying in flocks. They were even the inspiration for the "flying V" ice-hockey formation in the movie "mighty ducks" with Emilio Estevez. The movie also had that guy from from Dawson's Creek, but he was hardly recognisable as he was so young, although, he was also pretty young in "Dawson's Creek".
